PSG Crush Inter Miami 4-0 in Club World Cup

Atlanta, June 29, 2025 – Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) dominated Inter Miami 4-0 in the FIFA Club World Cup Round of 16 at Mercedes-Benz Stadium, advancing to the quarterfinals. The UEFA Champions League winners overwhelmed the MLS side with a first-half blitz, despite the presence of Lionel Messi.

PSG struck early, with João Neves heading in a Vitinha free-kick in the 6th minute. Neves added a second in the 39th, finishing a slick team move. Tomas Avilés’ own goal in the 43rd minute and Achraf Hakimi’s rebound tap-in before halftime sealed a 4-0 lead. PSG’s 70% possession and relentless press stifled Inter Miami, who managed zero first-half shots.

In the second half, PSG eased off, substituting Marquinhos and Fabián Ruiz. Messi created two chances, including a header saved by Gianluigi Donnarumma, but Inter Miami couldn’t score. PSG’s 19 shots and 9 on target underscored their dominance, while Inter Miami managed 7 shots.

PSG advance to face Bayern Munich or Flamengo on July 5. Inter Miami, despite the loss, exit with pride after their historic group-stage win over FC Porto.

Stats: PSG 66.6% possession, 9 shots on goal; Inter Miami 33.4%, 3 shots on goal. Attendance: 65,574.
